Should You Consider Discount Golf Cart Batteries?

Around Peachtree City, which is a golf cart community, the only golf cart batteries that are sold at golf cart service centers are Exide and Trojan golf cart batteries .... and none of the service centers sell or install discount golf cart batteries.

I have always used Exide golf cart batteries and have been pleased with them. In fact, this last set of electric golf cart batteries lasted almost 5 years - but they also cost me almost $500.

Always interested in saving a buck, a chance encounter at a local Napa store got me thinking. They had a big display for a sale on a set of six 6 volt batteries for $425.

I started calling around to find out what the current price was for a set of 6 six volt Exide batteries. The price ranged from $490 to $555.

The Napa batteries would save me at least $70. So is it worth it to save the extra money for an off-brand deep cycle battery?
